Rackspace has been an amazing success. It's hard to really make this statement since there is not a day in it's corporate history that I have heard of where the company made anything but a positive move forward. With 1,800 employees now, the company is planning on several thousand more in the years ahead as they finalize the details of a move to a new headquarters location. The real estate background of its former CEO (now Chairman) are certainly coming to bear fruit yet again for the company, yet my hat goes off also to the tremendous execution being put forth by the entire company who looks to actually show accelerated growth in 2007 toward a $350mn revenue level for the year that will most likely top $500mn in 2008. There is no longer a reason for the rest of the IT landscape to ignore Rackspace. In the past, my statements have focused on how the hosting sector shouldn't ignore Rackspace. Hence, my statement now is purposefully meant to get even more of the IT sector to get familiar with Rackspace since they are truly taking charge, with all growth to-date having been from organic growth efforts.
